Operations Manager / Operations Director Successor

I am working with an established UK packaging manufacturer seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Operations Director Designate to join its senior leadership team.
This is a genuine succession opportunity, suited to an ambitious Operations/Manufacturing leader ready to take on a broad operational remit and progress towards Operations Director responsibility over the next 18 months to 24 months.
The role will oversee a complex manufacturing environment encompassing recycling, extrusion, conversion, engineering/maintenance, warehousing and distribution, with responsibility from raw material through to finished product and customer delivery.
Key focus areas:
- Leadership and development of operational teams and departmental managers
- Improving OEE/production efficiency, output, waste, quality, cost and DOTIF
- Driving Continuous Improvement and world-class manufacturing standards
- Maximising plant, equipment and labour utilisation
- Engineering, preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
- HSE, quality and operational compliance
- Operational budgets, capacity planning and longer-term strategy
Who are we looking for?
An established Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, site manager, ideally from flexible packaging, plastics, extrusion, conversion, recycling or a closely related manufacturing environment.
You will be a hands-on and commercially aware leader with a demonstrable track record of developing people, improving manufacturing performance and delivering measurable operational improvements.
